About Dennis Flowers:

For millions of people, “retirement” means relaxing and taking life at a much easier and slower pace; especially when retiring from a highly stressful, fast-paced job, where being at the top of your game can literally mean the difference between life and death. For OHP Lieutenant Dennis Flowers, retirement meant the end of a career and way of life, but signaled the beginning of a new, exciting and rewarding one. In 2010, Dennis laid down his badge and gun to pick up his paint brushes and easel to pursue a very different life path as an artist.

What began as painting for enjoyment very rapidly turned into a passionate interest in transferring and portraying various life scenes, life memories, and activities around him on canvas. Never willing to settle for mediocrity and always pushing himself to improve, Dennis began to study under world acclaimed artists. From his Studio West Art Gallery, Dennis has painted artwork that has won numerous awards and recognition.

Dennis’ fine art paintings grace the walls of homes coast to coast. They hang not only in private homes, but also in many offices/businesses. He has also been commissioned to paint beautiful religious artwork for local and state churches! His one rule for choosing what he puts on canvas is that he has to be passionate about what he paints!

About Deborah Flowers:

Deborah’s interests in the secondary school system were many and varied, but from school two things stood out consistently; a love of horses and a habit of drawing any and everything that captured her fancy.  Although she had art classes in college, her major turned out to be nursing.  Her nursing career spanned 42 years and was a career she absolutely loved, working her way through the educational track from an Associate Degree in Nursing to completion of her PhD.  Retirement came after a career she thoroughly enjoyed, from nursing in a hospital to Professor at the collegiate level.  After retirement, she “tagged along” as her husband went to art classes and pursued his art career.  Finally, after two years and much pressure from Dennis, she began taking her first art classes, rediscovered her latent art talent and fell in love with the art she was able to create, as well as the artistic lifestyle.  Her favorite things to paint include horses, birds, flowers and landscapes, which of course, oftentimes include horses, flowers and birds!!
